International links and links with other local organisations

• South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC). (SAHRC: HURISA is conducting joint  training workshops/seminars with the Commission)

• South African NGO Coalition (SANGOCO).  (SANGOCO: HURISA has been appointed as one of three representatives of the Human Rights sector of SANGOCO. HURISA was also on the advisory committee of the NGO Forum of the 2001 UN World Conference Against Racism)

• Southern African Human Rights NGO Coalition (SAHRINGON). (SAHRINGON: HURISA has been a member of this coalition of NGO’s from the SADC region since its inception)

• Oliver Tambo Chair at Fort Hare University. (Fort Hare: This is a UNESCO chair based at Fort Hare University and HURISA has been collaborating with them through our training projects, especially our Camps)

• Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) (Nigeria). (CLO: Apart from attending our African Human Rights Camps, two interns were based at HURISA for a month.)

• Organisation Morocaine des droits de l’Homme (OMDH). (OMDH: Rabat, Morocco. Joint partner of the African Human Rights Camp held in Morocco in 1998. Attended our strategic planning workshop on the African Human Rights Camp.

• Foundation for Human Rights Initiative (FHRI). (FHRI: Joint partner of the African Human Rights Camp held in Uganda in November 2001)

• African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights (ACDHR). (ACDHR: Co-hosting the NGO Forum preceding the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights session, held in South Africa in 2002)

• The Arab Program for Human Rights Activists (Egypt). (APHRA: Joint partner of the  African Human Rights Camp held in Egypt in 2002)

• Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems, International (HURIDOCS), Geneva, Switzerland. (HURIDOCS: HURISA is collaborating with HURIDOCS since 1993 with regard to our training on human rights documentation and information handling)

• Zimbabwe Law Society. (ZLC: Promotion of the use of regional and international mechanisms for the protection of human rights, especially where national institutions are failing by training women lawyers on international human rights law in 2004)
